PNP5 Week 3: Concepts of a Plan

This week we started the planning phase. I developed the diagram for the utility side of Mosalinx.

This gives a visual of the apps screen, settings screen and the Account edit screen.

Being that I am focusing on Front End, my focus was working on the prototype to give us an interactive visual to go off of. It doesn’t fully match the aesthetic we are going for, but structurally it is accurate. Thus giving a decent idea of how it would work in production.

Veronica was furiously learning and setting up the Jira board. Credit to her for learning it as it was confusing Lesly and myself. It’s more interactive than a Trello board, which makes me wonder what the purpose of having a Trello board and Jira board since they seem to accomplish similar functions. Jira actually works more like a ticketing system akin to ServiceNow.

Now that we’ve gotten an understanding of Jira, we have our Sprint planned out as well. We seem to have isolated each others’ roles in this so we are getting more and more excited to embark on this project.

Side note we didn’t realize this was a five month project at first so we were assuming we had to have a fully functional concept done by the end of the month, but now we know we will be working on this alongside other classes until graduation.

We felt the meeting with Patrick was great. He seems really pumped for our direction, he didn’t have much criticism other than advising us not to overwhelm ourselves with advanced features. To which we have taken that advice and our application of it will be for the messaging system to be a simple one-room chat for the relevant team using Mosalinx.

All in all, I think we will have an interesting app by the end of this degree program.
